In its mission statement, the HVCA undertakes to “add value to members' businesses by providing quality services, promoting excellence and shaping the commercial environment through representation and leadership".
In order to deliver on this mission, the Association must maintain its position as a premier league trade association and employers’ organisation, and has identified the factors that are critical to its ability to achieve this.
Critical Success Factors
HVCA will therefore:
- maintain a strong, sector-representative membership;
- be the representative voice of the sector;
- set industry standards and ensure member compliance;
- communicate effectively with and on behalf of members;
- provide relevant, timely and value for money services;
- be a dynamic, well-managed and cost-effective organisation;
- employ a skilled, motivated team that understands the business
needs of members;
- have a strong and stable financial base.
Strategic Objectives
In pursuance of these goals, HVCA is driven by four core strategic objectives:
- to improve the commercial environment in which its members operate;
- to equip its members to operate efficiently and profitably;
- to improve professional standards throughout the industry;
- to ensure and maintain a skills pool adequate for the short and long-term
needs of the industry.
Key Areas for Action
In order to achieve these objectives, the HVCA’s efforts will be focused over
the next three years on:
- ensuring the development of appropriate skills and competences to satisfy the short and long-term requirements of the industry;
- positioning HVCA members in the marketplace such that they can gain commercial advantage by being recognised as experts in integrated energy systems and low and zero-carbon solutions;
- reforming and reshaping the industrial relations landscape across building services engineering;
- enabling HVCA member companies to operate profitably by improving the construction procurement process;
- promoting the rationalisation of the industry's procedures for demonstrating competence, and to discourage the further proliferation of discrete contractor qualification schemes.
- working in partnership with other organisation which share HVCA's aims, values and aspirations, and its absolute commitment to standards of excellence and best practice.
