HVCA is committed to enabling its member companies to operate profitably by improving the construction procurement process.

HVCA is striving to maximise the commercial protections provided to members by legislation designed to improve cash flow, to assist security of payment and to facilitate dispute resolution.

HVCA is campaigning for the routine use of project bank accounts, the phasing out of retention clauses, and the introduction of a fair payment charter for public sector construction contracts.

HVCA continues fully to support the Specialist Engineering Contractors' Group (along with the Confederation of Associations of Specialist Engineering Contractors in Scotland and Northern Ireland) as the voice of the specialist contracting sector in the UK.

HVCA makes sure that its members' views are heard in the "corridors of power" throughout the UK – and, as appropriate, in the European and international arena – by continuous contact with ministers, parliamentarians and civil servants.

" The existence of a level playing field – on which all members of the construction team can play their best game – will deliver benefits that would otherwise be out of everyone's reach"

Robert Stirland
Chairman HVCA Commercial and Contractual Committee

EFFICIENCY
The HVCA’s independent inspection and assessment regime encourages members to improve the efficiency of their businesses, minimising wasted effort and resources and so greatly enhancing the"bottom line".
