HVCA is
committed to reforming and reshaping the industrial relations
landscape across building services engineering.
HVCA is
strengthening its existing relationships with other employer
bodies in the wider building services engineering sector,
to develop an integrated m&e approach to employment
relations.
HVCA is
seeking to collaborate with its industry partners to harmonise
mechanical, electrical and plumbing terms and conditions
of employment, ultimately through a single working rule agreement
covering the three trades.
HVCA is
assisting the sector in recognising the emerging skills profile
of the construction industry, and in accommodating new technologies
and working methods in an integrated m&e context.
HVCA is
working to secure trade union and employee engagement over
– and support for – working
practices that deliver real improvements in productivity.
HVCA is
supporting employers in dealing with the implications of
the increasing use of agency labour and overseas workers.
HVCA is
enabling employers to adjust their employment practices in
line with the increasing diversity of today's construction
projects.
"The
industry's agreements are
important in ensuring adequate manpower supply. It is desirable
to have a joined-up approach to managing industrial relations
across building services engineering"
